Safety Manager
General Description:
The basic function of the Safety Compliance & Training Manager is to oversee the compliance with the various government agencies from a safety perspective, develop and track employee safety training programs for all company personnel. Some of the compliance related records this position is responsible for maintaining are; OSHA, Environmental, Workers' Compensation, SDS, ISNetworld, Employee Safety Training, and COVID Pandemic Plan to name a few.
Qualifications:
- Experience in developing safety compliance and safety orientation programs.
- Must be knowledgeable in multi-state legal safety compliance issues, including environmental issues.
- Must be proficient in; MS Office, Excel and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must have strong people skills and support diversity.
- Must be results driven, professional, organized, have discerning judgment, and be detailed oriented.
- Able to drive on a limited basis to job sites.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Compliance
- Issue PPE and safety gear at remote jobsites.
- Provide copy of documentation to HR for personnel file.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, providing written follow-up reports and documents to HR.
- Oversee compliance of equipment inspections and documentation.
- Maintain required updates to ISNetworld.
- Maintain SDS documentation.
- Provide records for contractual obligations of safety requirements.
- Maintain computer “safety info” files for jobs.
- Check and respond to emails, as needed.
- Ensure that printed and electronic records are filed appropriately, (resource HR and Safety Team):
- Tailgate meeting records in binders according to job number.
- Collect & file field site inspections in binders according to job number.
- Collect & file equipment and mobile equipment inspections according to job number.
- Ensure recording of monthly training is conducted, entered into the training matrix, training spreadsheet, and filed both hard copy and electronically, (ISNetworld).
- Order safety/fall protection supplies as needed and track costs.
- Work with HR manager to report OSHA 300 Log.
- Review hazardous waste determination and update as needed.
- Conduct SDS updates, print and replace in SDS binders. Update on the (W:) drive.
- Review and report site substance inventories and amounts to State Fire Marshal, noting significant changes in inventories/amounts on report as needed.
Training
- Develop and maintain safety training programs.
- Monitor safety training programs for up to date and covers all legal requirements
- Perform safety training at the corporate office.
- Perform safety training to new employees at corporate office and in field
- Track employee training using corporate “employee tracking program”
- Perform reoccurring training before the expiration dates.
Safety Audits
- Perform the initial & final safety audit of field jobs and fab & machine shops, as needed.
- Record and inform management of the results.
- Make recommendations for improvement

Do to the nature of this position, attendance, hours worked, and location of attendance will vary.
Miscellaneous:
- Asses the needs of the department and make recommendations to your supervisor.
- Adhere to rules, regulations, and company policies, present and future that are published for employees.
- Prioritize your work and maintain high quality standards.
- Submit weekly, monthly, & quarterly reports by the due date.
- Attend management & related meetings as necessary
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to type on a keyboard.
